If you want to take a break, you can stop at one of the many "Frasche" or "Private" (lit: "sprays” or "private houses"), private farm houses where you can stop and eat what they produce (eggs, salami, cheese, wine etc.). They're family-run places usually marked on the road by a spray hanging on the front door.

These food and wine places are a cultural heritage from the Habsburg times: private citizens are permitted to pour out and sell some of the wine they produce, even if for a short period a year.
