Aquileia: the Roman forum

The Roman Forum square in Aquileia features beautiful columns with Corinthian capitals belonging to the eastern colonnade. Before being restored, the columns lay dispersed in pieces, all facing the same direction as a consequence of a violent earthquake.

Scattered across the Forum there are the ruins of a heavy trabeation decorated by genies, festoons and amid them the head of Medusa.
